The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) relieved a female official whose video of her altercation with a barangay official and two (2) police officers went viral on facebook yesterday.
Acting on the directive of NAPOLCOM Vice-Chairman and Executive Officer Eduardo U. Escueta, NAPOLCOM-NCR Acting Regional Director Atty. Ferdaussi B. Masnar today issued a Memorandum relieving Ana Maria L. Paglinawan of her position as Acting Chief, Administrative Division, NAPOLCOM-NCR, pending investigation on the alleged incident posted in Police Digest Facebook page on October 27, 2015.
Vice-Chairman Escueta likewise ordered the creation of a team composed of senior officials from the NAPOLCOM Inspection, Monitoring and Investigation Service (IMIS) to conduct motu proprio investigation on the said incident.
The Commission shall validate the initial investigation report within three (3) days after its submission to the NAPOLCOM.
“We want to assure the public that the Commission shall not tolerate any wrongdoing committed by its officials and employees that may taint the good image of the NAPOLCOM,” Escueta said.
Escueta emphasized that the Commission remains steadfast in preserving the integrity of NAPOLCOM and will always take appropriate action against anyone who may try to tarnish the image of the NAPOLCOM by committing acts inappropriate of a public official.
The viral video which showed Paglinawan in a heated argument with two (2) local police officers and a barangay official of Justinville Panapaan VII, Bacoor, Cavite was uploaded by a certain Mike Almanza.
