LEGAZPI CITY — In celebration of the Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week from November 16 to November 20, 2015, the City Government of Legazpi, Liga ng mga Barangay, and City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) spearheaded a foot parade on November 16, 2015 at 2:00 PM from Vel-Amor Subdivision to Peñaranda Park at the Old Albay District, Legazpi City.
The parade was participated in by different government agencies, barangays, schools, and other organizations. The participants prepared and carried their slogans revolving around the theme of this year’s Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week, “Let’s Develop Our Lives, Our Communities, Our Identity Without Drugs.”
The National Police Commission Regional Office No. 5, represented by its Regional Director, Dir. Rodolfo G. Santos, Jr., as well as officers and personnel of NAPOLCOM 5, namely Atty. Adrian G. Miras, Ms. Cathyrine S. Lazo, Ms. Evelyn Aniel, Ms. Leslie Cunanan, and Mr. Marlon Paje, took part in the parade. Furthermore, Mr. Ricardo Fontanilla served as one of the members of the board of judges for the best slogan contest.
The activity aimed to instill in the minds of the residents of Legazpi City the ill effects of drugs and to advise everyone, especially the young ones, to stay away from drugs.
