LEGAZPI CITY — Hon. Mel Senen Sarmiento, Secretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government, personally officiated the ceremony on December 4, 2015 at Camp Gen. Simeon A. Ola for the turn over of Mahindra Police Patrol Jeepneys to 43 municipalities in Bicol – 11 of which are from the Province of Catanduanes, 12 from the Province of Camarines Norte, and 20 from the Province of Masbate.
The ceremony was attended by the key officials of the Police Regional Office No. 5, headed by PCSupt. Augusto M. Marquez, Jr., together with the officials from different PNP units in the Bicol Region, including those from the different municipal police stations which are to receive the patrol jeepneys.
The event was likewise attended by officials and chief executives of different local government units, officers and personnel of the DILG, as well as of agencies considered part of the DILG family, namely NAPOLCOM, BJMP, and BFP.
Prior to the turn over ceremony, a short program was held at the Multi-Purpose Building inside Camp Gen. Simeon A. Ola.
The NAPOLCOM Regional Office No. 5 was represented by its Regional Director, Dir. Rodolfo G. Santos, Jr., together with Atty. Franco Fermin B. Avila, Atty. Flora F. Mangampo-Remolacio, Ms. Ma. Gianelli Quiñones-Besana, PhD, Ms. Cathyrine S. Lazo, and Ms. Aurora Callos.
