Out of the two hundred sixty nine (269) Police Colonels who took the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) Police Executive Service Eligibility (PESE), four (4) coming from Bicol Region, were among the seventy six (76) Police Colonels who passed the said recently concluded examinations on August 25, 2019 held in the cities of Quezon, Cebu, and Davao.
Among the list of successful takers were PLTCOL BETITA, Rodelon Aracena, PLTCOL CABUG, Paul Demesa, PLTCOL DELA PEÑA, Victor Jr. Mendiola, and PLTCOL ENGAY, Edwin Gudino, all coming from Bicol Region.
NAPOLCOM Vice-Chairman and Executive Officer Atty. Rogelio T. Casurao said that the 76 Senior Police Officials are required to undergo the Validation Interview, the second and final phase of the PESE Eligibility process, which will be held at the NAPOLCOM office in Quezon City on November 23 and 24, 2019.
Atty. Casurao added that only the examinees who obtained 50% correct answers in the written examination phase are qualified to proceed to the Validation Interview Phase; and only those who will get “outstanding” rating in the interview phase shall be conferred the PES Eligibility Certificate during the PESE Conferment Rites.
The PES Eligibility is a requirement for a Police Officer to be promoted to the third level ranks of Police Colonel, Police Brigadier General, Police Major General, Police Lieutenant General. And Police General.
The PESE examination consists of two phases and is composed of analytical questions on police leadership, and police values to test the competence, skills and mettle of future leaders of the Philippine National Police.
